An improved procedure for evaluating the hydrodynamic dispersion coefficient using “inverfc” is presented. The procedure utilises the major portions of the breakthrough curves rather than a point-value which may be prone to measurement errors. Deviations resulting from these errors are minimized by using this procedure.
