ResumoO presente artigo tem o objetivo principal de analisar as inter-relacoes entre a narrativa da obra do escritor piauiense, O. G. Rego de Carvalho e as interpretacoes e (re) lei-turas feitas sobre ela, a partir das ilustracoes das capas de diferentes edicoes de seus livros. Metodologicamente, o artigo centrou-se na leitura analitico-interpretativa das ilustracoes dos livros do autor piauiense. Paralelamente, houve dialogo teorico com autores como Sevcenko (1999), Decca (2000), Eco (2000) e Williams (1999) para as discussoes sobre as aproxima-coes entre historia e escrita literaria. Para as dimensoes da arte, o embasamento se deu em Doody (2009), Paiva (2006), Burke (2004) e Bourdieu (1996). As diferentes ilustracoes reve-lam que, na esfera da hermeneutica, literatura e arte se constituem como narrativas que se complementam com niveis distintos de consonância e dissonância. ARTS OF WRITTEN AND WRITTEN OF ART: REPRESENTATIONS OF THE IMAGES OF THE O. G. REGO DE CARVALHO‟S WORK the present article has the main objective of analyzing the inter-relations be-tween the work‟s narrative of the Piauiense writer, O. G. Rego de Carvalho and the interpreta-tions and (re) readings done about it, apart the illustrations of the capes of different editions of his books. Methodologically, the article was based on the analytical and interpretative reading of the illustrations of the Piauiense author‟s books. In parallel, it was done a theoretical dialog with authors like Sevcenko (1999), Decca (2000), Eco (200) and Williams (1999) to the dis-cussions about the approaches between history and literary written. To the dimensions of art, the base was on Doody (2009), Paiva (2006), Burke (2004) and Bourdieu (1996). The different illustrations reveal that, in the hermeneutic, literature and art constitute themselves as narrative that are completed with specific levels of consonance and dissonance.
