A força dos jovens na Primeira Carta de João

Resumo: Entre os varios textos que, na Biblia, se referem aos jovens e a juventude, a passagem da primeira carta de Joao 2,12-14, e certamente uma das mais significativas1. De fato, nesses tres versiculos encontramos, por duas vezes, a bela dedicatoria aos jovens “que sao fortes” e que, cultivando em sua vida “a palavra de Deus”, sao “vencedores do Maligno”. O autor comeca analisando o texto, examinando a seguir seu contexto e o contexto da carta a qual o texto pertence, e enfim detendo-se na sua interpretacao propriamente dita. E conclui que a forca invencivel dos “jovens” da comunidade joanina, forca tambem hoje, dos jovens das nossas comunidades, e a forca da “palavra de Deus”, que neles permanece, se e enquanto permanece! E essa Palavra, concretamente, se identifica com o proprio Cristo, a Palavra encarnada do Pai. Abstract : Among the several texts that, in the Bible, refer to the young and the youth, the passage of 1 John 2,12-14 is certainly one of the most meaningful. In fact, in these three verses one finds, twice, the beautiful address to the young men and women who are strong and who, dedicated in their lives to the Word of God, are conquerors of the Evil one. The paper starts examining the text, and proceeds investigating its context and the context of the Letter to which the text belongs, and finally proposes its interpretation as such. The conclusion is that the invincible strength of the young of the johannine community, strength also of the young of our communities, is the power of the Word of God wich remains in them, if and while it remains! And this Word, concretely, is identical with Christ, the incarnate Word of the Father.
