O artigo discute a questao da representacao dramatica do processo de sub-jetivacao nas pecas Romeu e Julieta e Noite de reis. Com base no conceito de individualismo de fronteira, procura-se pensar as principais personagens de tais pecas, com o objetivo de discutir a tensao entre o anseio de dominar plenamente as proprias acoes e o imperativo de uma resignacao prudente. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Shakespeare; individualismo; subjetividade ABSTRACT This article discusses the matter of the self-fashioning’s dramatic representation on the plays Romeo and Juliet and Twelfth night. Thinking of the individual as a boundary, one analyses the main cha-racters of these plays, in order to discuss the tension between the expectation of complete control of one’s actions and the necessity of a prudent resignation.
