Environmental Sustainability and Education

The coastal plain of the Pacoti river, inserted in the municipal districts of Fortaleza, Eusébio and Aquiraz, it is composed by two environmental groups: coastal plain and for the cliffs.This research identified the environmental impacts of that area and it proposed practices of maintainable handling.The methodological procedures were developed in three stages: bibliographical revision, field activities and elaboration of cartographic material.This way, it was possible to identify the main environmental impacts happened in the area, as the lack fertile soil, the deforestation of the original vegetation and the hydric contamination.Those subjects evidenced the need of integrated action, in way to implant actions of maintainable handling essentially related with the recovery and the conservation of the environmental resources, mainly, through the environmental education and of socioeconomic activities related with the community tourism.The development of this theme aided in the best perception of the local population, generating subsidies for the environmental planning of the area.This way, it is fundamental to publish the results of this research, so much in the universe academic as community.
