Do acervo ao acesso: a perspectiva da biblioteca virtual em empresas

Apesar das transformacoes economico-sociais e da evolucao tecnologica no campo da informacao, as bibliotecas especializadas empresas no Brasil vem mantendo o modelo sistema estruturado na manutencao acervos proprios. Alheio a ordem economica vigente, o profissional ainda e formado para perpetuar o paradigma da preservacao dentro das empresas, cujo objetivo primeiro e o desenvolvimento e o aperfeicoamento produtos e processos visando maior competitividade em um mercado agora global. O tratamento a ser dispensado a especializada dentro do contexto produtivo deve ser diferente daquele dado a cunho educacional e atualizacao do contexto cultural, demandando sistemas maior dinamismo do que aqueles conhecidos como Discute-se o conceito biblioteca e suas implicacoes, onde o acervo tradicional e substituido pelo negocio da informacao e o profissional especializado passa a atuar mais como infomediario e menos como bibliotecario, uma vez que empresas precisam e nao necessariamente uma biblioteca. Essa tendencia, considerada nova por muitos, surgiu no final da decada 70 nos paises desenvolvidos e no inicio da decada 80 no Brasil, onde ganharia maior impulso se o pais contasse com bibliotecas tecnicas de base, cujos acervos fossem subsidiados e fortalecidos pelo governo, associacoes classe e mesmo por meio convenios com as proprias empresas. As empresas seriam liberadas da tarefa multiplicar bibliotecas internas em detrimento do seu objetivo primeiro que e produzir e onde e apenas mais um insumo. From collections to access: the virtual library perspectives to industrial and unities Abstract In spite of me social and economic transformations and the information field technological evolution, the Brazilian specialized libraries keep the model structured on private collections. The information professionals look distant from the new economic order and still have been instructed in the librarianship schools to perpetuate the collections preservation paradigm inside companies. Since the first companies objective is to develop and to improve their products and processes looking at more competitivity in global markets, the treatment to be given to specialized information in the productive context must be quite distinct from the treatment given to the current and educational information of the cultural context. The information systems must become more dynamic than just be libraries to better serve the purposes. The virtual library concept and its implications are discussed. The traditional collections are substituted by the information business and the information specialist acts as an infomediary and less as a traditional librarian since companies need information but not necessarily libraries. This tendency, considered new, appeared in the end of the 70's in the developed countries and in the begining of the 80's in Brazil, where it could reach more impulse if the country had key technical libraries which collections were mantained and improved by agreements with the government, technical associations or even with interested companies. This action would set the companies free from the task of multiply their own libraries, considering that their main objective is to produce and where information is just on more input.
