Resumo

This article focuses on one of the lineages of the lower nobility that managed to consolidate its political and economic power in the kingdom of Jaén after the conquest. Belonging to one of the many families of the lower nobility that came to Andalusia to participate in the war against Granada, they managed to establish themselves in the kingdom of Jaén, turning into the archetype of the noble family that achieved success in the Andalusian territory. We will analyse the events related to the Quesada family in the fifteenth century, demonstrating how their military activity in the borderland with Granada, their role as councillors in the city of Baeza and their political involvement in the service of the Crown led to the consolidation of their lineage.
