O artigo aborda o tema da morte no livro Metal Rosicler de Cecilia Meireles. Justificando a importância de estudar as ultimas obras da poeta, o artigo analisa os poemas 21 e 30 de Metal Rosicler com o objetivo de demonstrar a densidade e riqueza poeticas que apresentam, ao mesmo tempo que tambem examina as modulacoes e valores que a morte adquire em cada um deles. Antes da analise dos poemas, o artigo tece comentarios gerais a respeito do livro Metal Rosicler, procurando estabelecer relacoes entre o tema da morte, a obra e as preocupacoes essenciais da lirica ceciliana. Sugere que esse e um mio de investigar as raizes simbolistas da sua poesia. Propoe, por fim, uma leitura da obra de Cecilia Meireles afinada com algumas questoes fundamentais da poesia moderna ocidental. The article broaches the death theme in the book Metal Rosicler by Cecilia Meireles (1987, p.675-706). Justfying the importance of studying the last works of the poet, the article analyses the poems 21 and 30 of Metal Rosicler with the objective of demonstrating the poetic desity and richness they present as well as also examining the modulations and values that death acquires in each one of them. Before the analysis of the poems , the article makes general comments about the book Metal Rosicler, trying to establish relations between the theme of death, the work and the essential preoccupations of cecilian lyricism. It suggests that this is the way of investigating the symbolist roots of her poetry. It proposes, to a finalize, a lectrre of Cecilia Meireles’ work attuned to some of the fundamental questions of modern occidental poetry.
