The present work intends to show the concepts, surveys, methods and monitoring instruments involved in the movement’s studies of natural slopes, with view in the brazilian southeast, as well as, through an example, to expose and to analyze results obtained in 4 years of slope’s instrumentation in the Serra do Mar, Coroa Grande, municipal district of Itaguai in the State of Rio de Janeiro. The instrumentation is composed of inclinometers, Casagrande’s piezometers and water level meter. Data of precipitations and their relationships with the instrumentation’s results are also analyzed, being these data obtained through consultation to the competent organs.
