“A flor do exílio” – A amizade de Stefan Zweig e Ernst Feder vista a partir do 'Diário Brasileiro' de Feder

Resumo: Ernst Feder, jurista e editor responsavel de politica do Berliner Tageblatt por muitos anos, foi um dos jornalistas alemaes mais prestigiosos e internacionalmente conhecidos. Em 1933, por ser judeu e devido a sua atitude politica, teve que deixar a Alemanha. Depois de oito anos de exilio na Franca, chegou, em 1941, junto com sua esposa Erna, ao Rio de Janeiro. Ai tambem se tornou um jornalista conhecido, sendo amigo, entre outros, de Herbert Moses, Samuel Wainer, Rui Ribeiro Couto, Augusto Meyer, Sergio Buarque de Holanda e Edgar Roquette-Pinto. Ultimo amigo a ver o casal Lotte e Stefan Zweig na vespera do suicidio dele, Feder tornou-se famoso no mundo inteiro de uma maneira tragica, como um especie de cronista da vida e morte de Zweig no Brasil. No seu Diario Brasileiro, inedito, desenhou um retrato detalhado do exilio alemao no Brasil. O artigo apresenta a trajetoria de Ernst Feder e da sua amizade com Stefan Zweig no exilio brasileiro. “The flower of exile” – The friendship of Stefan Zweig and Ernst Feder as viewed through Feder’s Brazilian Diary - Abstract: Ernst Feder, lawyer and long-standing politicaleditor-in-chief of Berliner Tageblatt, was one of the most renowned and internationally well known German journalists. In 1933 due to his Jewish origin and political view he had to leave Germany. After an eight-year exile in France Feder and his wife Erna came to Rio de Janeiro in 1941. Here he became a famous journalist in Brazil, too. Herbert Moses, Samuel Wainer, Rui Ribeiro Couto, Augusto Meyer, Sergio Buarque de Holanda e Edgar Roquette-Pinto, among others, belonged to his Brazilian friends. In his “Brazilian Diary” he gives a detailed picture of the German exile in Brazil. Being the last friend to see Stefan Zweig and his wife Lotte on the eve of their suicide, Feder tragically became internationally renowned as chronicler of life and death of Stefan Zweig in Brazil. On the basis of diary entries of the “Brazilian Diary” this article presents the life of Ernst Feder and his friendship with Stefan Zweig in Brazilian Exile.
