Resumo

STATA is a statistical analysis program developed by STATA Corporation, College Station, TX. In addition to supporting a very extensive array of statistical tools, STATA incorporates a critical complement of data management and graphics facilities as well. As demonstrated in another article in this volume (Boston et al., 2002), STATA fits very well into the kinetic analysis suite of tools. In that paper, we show how some preliminary analyses of intravenous tolerance test (IVGTT) data leading to estimates of key parameters and their errors in the minimal model (see Bergman and Bowden, 1981) could easily be performed with STATA. We also demonstrate the transfer of some WinSAAM Population Management Results from WinSAAM to STATA for further appraisal as well as for graphical display. Here we will present aspects of the organization, operation, use, and availability of STATA.
