Resumo

<p><strong>Resumo: </strong>Este artigo tem como objetivo discutir a influência do discurso do prefácio ao poema <em>Hellas</em> do poeta inglês Percy B. Shelley, onde se localiza a famosa expressão “somos todos gregos”, desde a sua formulação em um contexto de avaliação bastante positiva da experiência grega antiga, no seio da atuação romântica e filelênica de artistas e intelectuais ingleses na primeira metade do século XIX, até a sua ampla projeção e o surgimento de críticas à conexão linear entre uma Grécia ideal e a contemporaneidade.</p><p><strong>Palavras-chave:</strong> Grécia – História do Ocidente – Shelley – Recepção da Antiguidade Clássica.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Abstract: </strong>This paper intends to discuss the influence of the preface to the poem <em>Hellas </em>of the British poet Percy B. Shelley in which there is the famous expression “we are all Greeks”, since its own wording in a context of positive appraisal of the ancient Greek experience inside the romantic and philellenic activities of English artists and intellectuals of the nineteenth century’s first half, until its broad diffusion and the rising of criticism to a linear connection between an ideal Greece and Contemporaneity.</p><p><strong>Keywords:</strong> Greece – History of Occident – Shelley – Classical Reception.</p>
