A Competitividade da Cadeia do Morango no Rio Grande do Sul

ResumoRio Grande do Sul is one of the most traditional states in production of strawberries. In order to analyze the trajectory of this chain, it is intended an exploratory analysis using secondary data, to compose a broad view of the state’s strawberry production, which express the challenges and opportunities for the competitiveness of the agrifood chain. As a result it was observed that the construction of this scenario facilitates the observation of the opportunities and difficulties in the strawberry chain in Rio Grande do Sul. Another aspect to be noted with regard to competitiveness, is that this is happening differently in the strawberry chain, because the production has been showing a trend of upward in the Serra Gaucha, stability in the Vale do Cai, and a decrease in the south of the state. And relatively to other producing states, Rio Grande do Sul, has been losing ground in terms of production volume.
