ResumoErythropoiesis involves a cascade of differentiation steps that are driven by a variety of glycoproteins. The authors discuss erythropoietin, interleukin-3, and granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor, the best understood of the growth factors regulating erythropoiesis, as well as tumor necrosis factor and other cytokines.
