Resumo

<p><strong>Resumo:</strong> O presente artigo visa refletir acerca das funções jurídicas atreladas ao desempenho das magistraturas que compunham o <em>cursus honorum</em> senatorial durante o período do Principado romano. Objetivamos com tal análise compreender o entrelaçamento entre a administração do Império e a aplicação da justiça. Para tanto, interpretaremos os vestígios existentes na documentação de autoria de Plínio, o Jovem, acerca das magistraturas que compunham o <em>cursus honorum</em> e que atuavam na aplicação das leis em cortes de justiças.</p><p><strong>Palavras-chave: </strong>Principado – Direito Romano – Cortes de justiça –<em> cursus honorum</em> – Plínio, o Jovem.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Abstract: </strong>This paper aims to reflect on the legal functions associated with the practice of magistratures that composed the senatorial <em>cursus honorum</em> during the Roman Principate. Our objective with this analysis is to understand the interlacement between the Empire administration and the application of the law. For the purpose of this paper we shall interpret vestiges that we could observe in Pliny the Younger’s documentation about magistratures that composed the <em>cursus honorum </em>and which acted in the application of law in courts of justice.</p><p><strong>Keywords</strong>: Principate – Roman law – Courts of justice –<em> cursus honorum </em>– Pliny the Younger.</p>
