EnglishThis paper explains the demograhic evolution of Olivenza, between 1640 and 1715, which are, r espectively the year of portuguese independ revolution agaisnt Spain and the year in which both iberian countries signed the Peace Tr eaty after the battles of Spanish Cr own�s Succession. The demographic variants: fer tility, nuptiality , mortality and mobility are analised through the aggregative method. The fights, started in 1641, made an end in the natality growth, which had began after the 1620�s decadence. Only in the 17 thcentury eighties, the population grew up significantly portuguesNeste artigo estuda-se a evolucao demografica de Olivenca durante o periodo de 1640 ate 1715, respectivamente, a data da revolucao indepen- dentista portuguesa contra Espanha, e o ano em que os dois paises ibericos assinaram o tratado de paz, apos as lutas da guerra da Sucessao a Coroa espanhola. Atraves do metodo agregativo, analisam-se as variaveis demografi- cas, natalidade, nupcialidade, mortalidade e mobilidade. As luta s, iniciadas no ano de 1641, puseram termo ao crescimento da natalidade que se comecava a fazer sentir, apos a recessao da decada de vinte do seculo XVII. Seria apenas na decada de oitenta, deste mesmo seculo, que a populacao cresceria de modo significativo.
