EVALUATION OF FLUORIDE AVAILABILITY IN CHILDREN DENTIFRICES FOUND IN THE BRAzILIAN MARKET Nine child toothpaste brands found in the Brazilian market were analyzed and all fluoride forms were determined. We also determined if the fluoride content of these toothpastes corresponded to that mentioned by the manufactures on the label. The total fluoride and soluble fluoride concentrations (ppm F medium ± dp) found for each toothpaste were respectively: Enlace Kids® 728.1 ± 128; 588.2 ± 292; Content Kids® Avaliacao da disponibilidade de fluor em dentifricios infantis encontrados no comercio brasileiro F. It can be concluded that most of the toothpastes found in the Brazilian market were in accordance with the rules established by the current Brazilian law. However, not all of them had enough soluble fluoride to influence dental caries process.
