ResumoThe plot of Shakespeare’s famous tragedy Romeo and Juliet was introduced in Spain thanks to Bandello’s short novel during the XVI century. Starting from it, Lope de Vega and Rojas Zorrilla wrote their own versions, which are analyzed in the present paper, as well as the one written by the almost unknown writer Cristobal de Rosas.
