ResumoThis paper presents the outcome of the archaeological excavation on the prehistoric barrow of El Morcuero. It is a non-megalithic monument with diachronic biography. It was made up of stones and sediments through successive and discontinuous ritualized practices. Its erection in the Late Copper Age is related with the discovery of dispersed fragments of several Bell Beakers of regional styles. In the mid of the II millennium cal BC some cremated skeletal remains of a woman were deposited, dated by radiocarbon and associated with two vessels, one of them decorated with boquique technique (Cogotas I culture). This monument is interpreted in the context of the Recent Prehistory, emphasising its symbolic role and its landscape prominence in the valley in which it is placed.
