Density of Callichirus major (Say, 1818) on the beaches of José Menino, Santos/SP and Itararé, São Vicente/SP.

Resumo

The current study evaluated the density of Callichirus major (SAY, 1818) in September 2013 at Itarare Beach (Sao Vicente, SP) and Jose Menino (Santos, SP), both located in the Santos Bay. The density calculated by counting the holes of the specie varied along the beaches, obtaining statistically significant differences between the points studied. The highest densities were observed in Jose Menino Beach, checking a gradual increase in the density of the animal towards to the lower shore.
