Se describe un caso de pseudohermafroditismo en porcinos, encontrado en un especimen de matadero y caracterizado macroscopicamente por las gonadas pequenas, de superficie lisa con apariencia de testiculo de los cuales se desprende un conducto corto incluido dentro de una capsula que tambien envuelve a la gonada y que se asemeja a la tunica albuginea propia del testiculo normal. Este conducto se aproxima mas a un tubo epididimario que a una trompa de Falopio, y se continua con los cuernos del utero. El utero es de morfologia normal pero francamente hipoplasico y desemboca en una vagina muy corta. Fenotipicamente el animal era una hembra. En corres histologicos tenidos con hematoxilina-eosina se encontro un tejido testicular con tubos seminiferos que demostraban actividad espermatogenetica incompleta, ya que no fue posible identificar ningun espermatozoide a nivel del lumen de los tubulos examinados. El tejido intersticial era abundante y da la apariencia de hiperplasia con caracteristicas muy similares al descrito en casos de testiculo feminizante en el hombre, rata y raton. /Abstract. A case of pseudohermaphroditism in swine is discribed. It was found at the slaughterhouse. Macroscopically it is charecterized by two small gonads with smooth surface which resemble a testicle. From it comes out a short tube covered by a capsule, which also include the entire gonad and appears to be a tunica albuginea like that of the normal testicle. These tubules showed a greater simililarity to aepididymus than to a fallopian tube. Morphologically, the uterus was normal but remarkable hypoplasic and did lead into a very short vagina. Phenotypically the animal was female. Histologic sections, stained with hematoxilin-eosin method, were examined with the light microscope. A typical testicular tissue was found with seminiferous tubules showing an incomplete spermatogenic activity. No spermatozoa were found inside the lumen of the examined tubules. The interstitial tissue was abundant and appeared to be hiperplastic, with characteristics very similar to those described for the testicular feminization syndrome in human, rat and mouse.
