Resumo

Pollen tubes penetrated stigma papilla cells in flowers that were illegitimately (self) pollinated, after CO2 treatment of these flowers. This shows that the self-incompatible reaction in Brassica can be removed by CO2 gas. Ethylene gas was not effective.
