ResumoUnusual skeletal substitution reactions (such as the example shown right) are characteristic of the reactivity of cyclic borataphosphazenes towards halide abstraction agents with counterions such as [BF4]−, [AsF6]−, and [SbF6]−. In other cases ([AlCl4]− and [GaCl4]−) stable borazine–phosphazene hybrid rings are formed.
