ResumoAbstractAlumina is one of the materials currently under evaluation as a substitute for fluorspar or as an additional reagent to promote slag-forming and steelmaking reactions. This work is concerned with the effects of Al2O3 and MgO in the slag on the attack of magnesite bricks.Commercial bricks and synthetic slags were used in this laboratory investigation. Cylindrical specimens were immersed in slags at 1600°C for pre-determined times and followed by macroscopic and microscopic examinations. Resume. L'alume est l'un des materiaux qu'on evalue actuellement pour remplacer le fluorspar ou comme reactif supplementaire pour favoriser les reactions de l'acierage et de la formation du laitier. Cette etude considere les effets de l'Al2O3 et de la MgO dans le laitier sur l'attaque aux briques de magnesie.Dans cette investigation de laboratoire nous avons employe des briq ues commerciales ainsi que des laitiers synthetiques.
