ResumoThe applied field dependence of magnetic flux trapped by the pulsed field magnetization (PFM) method has been investigated for a small melt-processed Y–Ba–Cu–O bulk sample with a symmetric distribution of the trapped flux. It was revealed that the magnetic flux trapped in the sample decreases when the applied field exceeds a critical value, regardless of the existence of weak links, and that the reduction is marked in the center of the sample. Furthermore, the reduction was found to strongly depend not only on the PFM condition responsible for the heat generation but also on the cooling condition to dissipate the heat generated in the sample.
