ResumoAbstract Nymphicilichus perezae gen. nov., sp. nov. is described from the cockatiel, Nymphicus hollandicus (Psittaciformes: Cacatuidae), from New Zealand. The cockatiel is native to Australia, and this host record is from what was almost certainly an escaped captive bird. The genus Psittophagus is transferred from Falculiferidae to Pterolichidae based on the absence of an epigynium and the presence of a Y‐shaped oviporus.
