ResumoA high resolution electron microscopy (HREM) study of the Z-type hexaferrite phase (nominal composition: Ba2Cu2Fe12 O22) shows, in detail, features of the crystal structure arrangement. Lattice image simulations roughly confirm the Braun's model for the Z structure. Moreover, HREM observations show structural intergrowths of M and Y blocks as a consequence of the barium amount.
