ResumoAntoine-César Becquerel began a dynasty of famous French physicists. His son, Alexandre-Edmond (1820–1891), contributed to the investigations of the solar spectrum and to magnetism, electricity, and optics. His grandson, Antoine-Henri (1852–1908), was awarded the Nobel Prize in physics (with Pierre and Marie Curie) for his investigations of uranium and radioactive substances.
