Resumo

Abstract The standard percolation equations, based on a scaling anzatz, have been one of the most commonly used and successful models for the AC and DC conductivity of good conductor–bad conductor media, with a percolation threshold. Recent experiments have shown that the second order terms from experimental AC conductivity results on continuum systems cannot even be qualitatively modelled using the standard percolation equations. A single analytical equation, the first order terms of which reduce to the standard percolation equations in the appropriate limits and has the same parameters as the percolation equations, is introduced. This equation is shown to fit, qualitatively at least, some second order conductivity results.
