Resumo

Pedro Cieza de León (1519-1554) is known among scholars as the "prince of the chroniclers of the Indies," and is one of the most cited and quoted individuals in any study on Pre-Hispanic and Post-Hispanic Andean culture because of his historical reliability. However, Cieza de León's chronicles are not the preferred chronicles of Peru for scholars, despite the appearance of new editions of the four parts of his chronicles, and new translations of his writings into English.
