Resumo

The chemical composition and mode of action of products designed for use on human hair are reviewed and contrasted with processes for the dyeing and finishing of wool. The morphological structure of human hair and wool are compared and the restrictions required of hair‐care processes are discussed. The product classes considered include bleaches, hair colorants, permanent waving and straightening, setting and styling aids, shampoos, conditioners, and cream rinses.
