Resumo

Abstract Aliphatic and aromatic acyl chlorides were efficiently reduced to give the corresponding alcohols when treated with Zn(BH4)2 in the presence of N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylenediamine. The reactions with other bases were also examined.
