Resumo

at the University of California, Los Angeles. 1 The symposium explored the complex political, ethical, legal, and cultural challenges faced in the creation, preservation, and use of records documenting human rights crises. In bringing together an international group of archivists and scholars whose work addresses archival issues in a broad range of countries-South Africa, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Bosnia, Croatia, Rwanda, and the United States-the symposium provided an opportunity to develop interdisciplinary scholarship at the intersection of archival theory and practice, human rights, history, anthropology, and law.
