ResumoThe electrochemical behaviour of cystine and cysteine is studied by cyclic voltammetry at a mercury electrode coated with cytochrome c, cytochrome c3 or Triton X-100. It is shown that the diffusion controlled reduction peak of cystine is shifted towards more negative potentials. The existence of other cathodic and anodic peaks is explained by the adsorption of cystine and the formation of mercury cysteinate suggesting an imperfect coverage of the drop surface.
