ResumoIt is 3 pm, and a call comes in. A high-speed road traffic crash involving a car and a transportation bus carrying laborers has occurred on Sheikh Zayed Road near Jebel Ali. There are multiple casualties and 5 helicopters coming, all with level I trauma patients. Ambulances will also be arriving with possibly 20 additional patients with varying degrees of injuries. The nurses in Rashid Hospital Trauma Center's (RHTC's) Emergency Department don personal protective gear and prepare to accept the patients. It is just another day in the life of RHTC's emergency nurses. Pennie Gomez, ENA Member, is Clinical Educator, Emergency Department, Rashid Hospital Trauma Center, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
