To the Editor: As President and Secretary of the Israel Society for Plastic Surgeons (ISPS), we would like to express our pleasure with our new partnership with Aesthetic Surgery Journal ( ASJ ), which is now the official English-language journal for our Society. We also want to take this opportunity to introduce our Society to the ASJ readership. Plastic surgery in Israel emerged during the War of Independence in 1948, when Dr. Jack Penn, head of Plastic Surgery at the University of Johannesburg, along with a medical team, made several trips to Israel in order to treat war casualties.
