ResumoThis article deals with Abismos de Pasión, the Mexican film version of Wuthering Heights which Spanish director Luis Buñuel shot in 1954. It describes how Emily Brontë's novel fascinated this director, who discovered it through his study of Surrealism. In his adaptation, Buñuel uses the universe created by Emily Brontë as a vehicle to express his personal obsessions. However, the final result is surprisingly close to the original.
