ResumoAbstract The author has employed the McCash “open palm” technique for Dupuytren's contracture. It consists in making a transverse skin crease incision and after a limited fasciectomy leaving the palm wound open. In two cases the technique has been also employed in the fingers realising an “open digit”. Thirteen hands have been treated: complete healing has been obtained in three to five weeks with a final scar quality very good in all cases. In twelve hands full flexion and extension of all fingers has been obtained. In one case there has been a recurrence of the contracture due to the fact that the patient could not use the extension splint.
