Ethics and Legal Issues in Pediatric Healthcare

It is our opinion that the basic science clearly explained and illustrated in this article is surely worth understanding, in view of the several advances already established, the prospects which are imminent, and probably many other evolutions not yet anticipated. Accordingly, we urge each reader who may be interested in this new and exciting field to read this article slowly and under the best evironmental circumstances, with frequent reference to the very helpful illustrations. As the author has stated to us, this is such a fast-moving field that some of this material may be considered out of date by the time it is printed; our printing schedules and other limiting factors preclude the rapid action which would be desirable. On the other hand, the basic principles are so clearly set forth here that the kind of assimilation which we can recommend will surely pay rich dividends.
