Resumo

Low Re2O7-loading Re2O7/SiO2.Al2O3-SnR4 or -PbR4 (R=alkyl) catalyst systems are highly active for the metathesis of functionalized alkenes. This high activity is attributed to their high Bro˝nsted acidity and not to any particular surface species. Poisoning of the Bro˝nsted acid sites of the catalyst by hexa-methyldisilazane leads to a decrease and finally to termination of the activity.
