Resumo

The relationship between the nickel partition coefficient of the mineral pair olivineaugite and the temperature determined from the Makaopuhi material was used to evaluate crystallization temperatures on the present surface of the Parikkala gabbro intrusive in SE Finland. The temperatures, which must be considered as relative model temperatures only, reflect the field evidence that the intrusive is strongly differentiated. The dependence of the numerical values of the nickel partition coefficients on temperature for the mineral pairs olivine-orthopyroxene, olivine-hornblende, orthopyroxene-augite, hornblende-orthopyroxene and hornblende-augite is also discussed.
