ResumoA dog with multiple infection by D. renale in the abdominal cavity presented granular peritonitis with giant cells phagocytizing D. renale eggs.Hepatic and phrenic serositis associated to numerous eggs of the parasite immersed in fibrinous process were observed.Lungs presented D. renale eggs in the parenchyma, mononucleated cell infiltrates, edema, hemorrhage, congestion, atelectasia, emphysema, and thromboembolism.D. renale eggs were detected inside the center-lobular veins, auricular cavities, and superficial venous bed of the heart. These findings characterized an atypical dissemination pathway of eggs in erratic cycle.
