This paper presents an overview of the high performance Grid networking activities in the DataGRID project. We examine the main issues raised at network level by the design and the development of a large-scale Grid Testbed. We present the application requirement studies, the underlying network infrastructure and the initial network monitoring architecture that is under development in the context of the project.
