Resumo

Vegetable oils are desired alternatives to petroleum resources for preparation of general purpose materials. A chemoenzymatic approach for preparation of poly(oleic acid) of controllable properties is reported. The use of enzyme has advantages to void side reactions and promote environmentally friendly processes. Thermal analysis showed that these materials were stable up to 300°C, suitable for use as stable polymeric materials for a variety of applications.
