Resumo1. It has been shown that the diglycerides synthesized via the monoglyceride pathway are not incorporated into phosphatidyl choline while the diglycerides synthesized via the α-glycerophosphate pathway are a precursor of phosphatidyl choline. 2. The stereochemical configuration of the diglyceride synthesized by both pathways is the sn-1,2-configuration. 3. The relationship of the two microsomal diglyceride pools to triglyceride and phosphatidyl choline by synthesis in the intestine is discussed.
