Pathogenicity of nine isolates of Metarhizium anisopliae (Metsch.) Sorok. to Diatraea saccharalis (Fabr.)

Abstract In this study the pathogenicity of 9 isolates of Metarhizium anisopliae (Metsch.) Sorok. was determined on larvae of the sugarcane borer, Diatraea saccharalis (Fabr.). The LT 50 of the isolates was calculated as well as the Potency Rate, which is referred to in Standard Units of Potency (UP). The electrophoretic standard of the tested isolates was also determined. The most pathogenic isolate for D. saccharalis was SPL‐10Z. The least pathogenic isolates were PL‐2 and PL‐21. Zusammenfassung Pathogenität von 9 Isolaten des entomophagen Pilzes Metarhizium anisopliae (Metsch.) Sorok. gegenüber Larven von Diatraea saccharalis (Fab.) Es wurden LT 50 ‐Werte von 9 Isolaten von M. anisopliae gegenüber D. saccharalis ‐Larven ebenso ermittelt wie die Potentialrate gemäß den Richtlinien der Standard Units of Potency (UP). Der elektrophoretische Standard der getesteten Isolate wurde gleichfalls bestimmt. Die höchste Pathogenität gegenüber den D. saccharalis ‐Larven hatte das Isolat SPL‐10Z, die geringste zeigten PL‐2 und PL‐21.
