ResumoA simple and rapid method for determination of As in virtually all sorts of biological materials and also in other cases by means of activation analysis was developed and evaluated. Arsenic is separated radiochemically by distillation and precipitntion and the radioactivity of As/sup 76/ measured by gamma spectrometry or BETA /sup -/-counting. The sensitivity is 10/sup -8/ to 10/sup -9/ g, depending on the measurement technique, when irradiation is performed at a flux of the order of 10/sup 12/ neutrons cm/sup -2/ sec/sup -1/. The procedure was applied to the determination of the As content of the remains of the 16th century King Erik XIV of Sweden and of other materials. (auth)
