ResumoThree novel halogenated beta-bisabolene sesquiterpenoids (1-3), together with two know triquinane alcohol sesquiterpenes (6 and 7), were isolated from the red alga Laurencia scoparia and their structures elucidated by spectroscopic methods. Single-crystal X-ray crystallography allowed us to confirm the structure of 1 as well as to determine the absolute configuration of all stereocenters. To the best of our knowledge, the isolation of beta-bisabolenes from the genus Laurencia has no precedent in the literature. Compound 1 showed weak in vitro anthelmintic activity against parasitant stage (L4) Nippostrongilus brasiliensis.
