ResumoIn the radiolysis of FBX dosimeter solutions at very low doses and dose-rates, the reactive transients are formed in low concentrations separated from each other by large distances. Their slow reactions lead to long chain oxidations of Fe2+. The chain termination is less effective because of low concentrations of ferric ions. Excited benzoic acid formed in exothermic peroxy reactions increases the chain length further.
