ResumoAbstract The results of an investigation of scale insects (Hemiptera, Coccoidea) in Klaipėda, Tauragė and Utena counties by the first two authors during July 2008 are presented. Additional data from Vilnius county, and Panevėžys and Šiauliai cities are also included. Klaipėda is one of the smallest counties in Lithuania yet appears to be particularly diverse in the number of native species of scale insects found there, 19 species representing 70% of the native coccoid fauna were found during four and a half days collecting. Nine species were recorded in Utena and seven in Tauragė counties. Two species are recorded from Lithuania for the first time: Eulecanium douglasi (Šulc) and Newsteadia floccose (De Geer).
